A sheltered east-facing beach on Gray Cove — quiet, out of the way, and one of the only spots on the island where you can watch the sun come up over the water. Most visitors never find it because it's not on the obvious route to Stonington. That's the point.

This is a sunrise beach. Set an alarm, bring coffee, and get here before the fog burns off. You'll have it to yourself. The rest of the day it's a pleasant but unremarkable stop — the magic is the morning light.
