Hike & Explore
A quiet mossy woods walk on the east side of the island. No ocean views, no dramatic payoff — just old spruce, soft trails, and the kind of silence you came to Deer Isle for. The canopy keeps it cool on hot days and mostly dry in light rain. This is the hike for when you want to disappear into the trees for an hour.
Insider Tip
Best on a foggy or overcast day when the beaches aren't calling. The moss and lichen come alive when it's damp. Bring bug spray in June and July.
